Giant Pandas Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing play at the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park in Washington. Ling-Ling, the female who delighted visitors for more than two decades, died December 30, 1992 at age 23. She was the oldest panda in a zoo outside China. In the wild, pandas rarely live beyond their teens. Her mate, Hsign-Hsing, continues to be one of the zoo's top attractions. ==Smithsonian Photo #79-1961 by Richard Hofmeister.
